NO, in addition to this series 1 XJ12, I own several other Jaguars too. I own a 1971 series 1 XJ6, a 1990 XJS-C (V12), as well as a 1996 XJ6 VDP.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE V12 Jaguars! And I really enjoy the “sporty” feel of a series 1 XJ’s.<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

I’m in the Tulsa Ok area,and I found the car advertised on FaceBook Marketplace. It came to me from Overland Park Kansas.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

How much did you pay for it? <\/strong><\/h2>\n

I paid $1,200 for it.\u00a0 Jag. The car was advertised for a price greater than I paid but , but the seller accepted My offer, and we both were happy.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

The XJ12 has 53,000 original miles on it.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

Where did the Jag come from? <\/strong><\/h2>\n

The series 1 XJ12 came from the Overland Park area of Kansas. Approximately 275 miles away from my location.<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

Did you have it transported, or did you “go pick it up”?\u00a0 Either way, (pick up, or transport) what was the cost?<\/strong> <\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

I had it transported. Why? Well with the cost of having it transported was $400.00. If I had chosen to drive to pick it up the R\/T gas (at 12 mpg) PLUS my time and probably over night stay, it was really just so much easier, and (in my opinion) cost effective to have it transported for the $400.00\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

What are your plans for it?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

My plans are to restore it to a “drivers” quality restoration and make it my daily driver.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

Have you thought of a (potential) budget for\u00a0 its restoration? <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Yes, I think that a realistic budget for a “drivers quality” restoration is $5,500- $7,000<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

How much will it be worth when it’s finished it’s (driving) restoration? <\/strong>The current (2024)\u00a0 sales figures of (value?) of a series 1 SWB XJ12 is between 14K, and 18k. Maybe even as much as 20k?\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

Do you have any skills\u00a0 that can contribute to it’s getting back\u00a0 on the road?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Yes…I’m planning on doing a color change, and I can weld and plan on doing ALL of the rust repair, as well as the insulation of the NEW leather interior. I will also be doing the\u00a0 repair of the Dash Cap, as well as the refinishing of the the wooden dash. I’m a pretty good wrench, and owning a 1990 XJS V12, I’m familure with “what it takes” do “wrench” on a Jag V12.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n
